Hey,

News from The Wells Fargo Championship ended a few days ago with Rory, D.A. Points, and Rickie Fowler in a one hole sudden death playoff. All three golfers hit a similar drive on this hole and were sitting about 130 out from the pin. D.A. Points hit a shot that was over the pin and just on the fringe. Rory hit a safe shot to the right side of the green. Fowler hit an aggressive shot that put him with about a ten foot birdie putt. D.A. was the first to hit his putt, and missed leaving himself with an achievable par putt. Rory hit a good birdie putt after Points missed his but he fell short and had to settle for par as well. This tournament also being a chance for him to be the world’s number one again similar to others in the past. So finally it is Rickie’s turn and he has a putt that would win him his first PGA Tour golf tournament of his career. With this ten foot birdie putt Rickie sinks it and earns himself his first win as a PGA pro.
What does this mean though for the golf world because before it has seen great golf prodigies such as Jack Nicklaus but he has now retired. Tiger Woods was another but we can just leave it at that, key word being was. The next in line was the young Rickie Fowler but sense his start on Tour it was slow. Now that he has won his first tournament on the PGA Tour does this mean he will be the next great and continue to win.
In other news this is the end and final blog for Rory Fever. It was a great time reporting and telling all about golf but now as the season really starts to kick in up here it is time to shut the ‘off season’ down.
Thanks.

Hey,
The Wells Fargo Championship starts today and Rory, Tiger and Phil M, are all looking for something different after it is over. Rory now at the number two world rank has a chance to become the number one again if he wins. Last year he just made the cut by a stroke after the first round but on the final day he hit a 62 to win this tournament. Sense last years tournament he has four wins, thirteen top five finishes and eleven top three finishes. He really can make a big swing in his career by winning this tournament and his chances look good. Tiger won this tournament back in 2007 posting great numbers every score being under par. That year he made outstanding putts and looks for his second PGA Tour win in two years. Lefty’s numbers are great here too, in his last twelve starts at this tournament he has not finished outside the top twelve in his last ten starts here. So it is need less to say that all three of these golfers chances look good but these are just stats and they don’t and can’t control the future, although they can predict it and from what people are saying all three golfers’ chances look good. We just have to see if they can support their stats.
Other things considered, this upcoming Saturday I will be playing with my golf coach at the course I take lessons at. This is so he can see where my all around game is put together. The last few days I have gone out and practiced shooting the ball well. My drive does need work but everything else looks good. I look to put up a good score there, especially on a hard course like that one. The course is long, the greens are slick, and the rough is thick. I can’t wait to see!
Thanks.

I have a question this week about golfers and how they play golf? I want to know why is it that some but it seems like it is most golfers can win a tournament on the weekend but the next tournament they play in and they place tied for sixty-seventh? I know guys like Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods won continuos rounds weekend after weekend but what about others? I feel like because they can win this tournament don’t they have the potential to win the next and I guess it is anybody’s game each tournament because they all could win but why is that the same guy that won the tournament the week before at least contend for next weeks tournament? Is it in the mind because the players game would not have changed, could it be that their mind is harder to control so they are n’t prepared to finish off the tournament that they might have started off playing well in? What about the course, is it because it is a different course then the course the last game they played on? I think I am just wondering this because it seems like there is always somebody new to talk about unlike back when ‘Twenty Timer’ had his days and he made headlines every weekend. Maybe it is somethings that can’t be answered but I just wanted to throw it out there to see if anybody else new.
Just an update on some new things going on the other end of golf, I have moved into putting with my coach last weekend and look forward to it again this weekend. The iron shots are still good and long and the driver as well. I will be looking forward to tournaments this summer and see how my new swing and other techniques change my score.
Thanks.

Hey,
Louis Oosthuizen was hungry for a Masters win as well and was able to tie Bubba after the final round and forced a playoff which lasted two holes. But now that the Masters is over and there is a winner and it is Bubba Watson with his first Masters win of his career. He might have even hit one of the most famous shot in Masters
history. In the two hole playoff verse Oosthuizen from the trees he hits a hook right on to the green to set up a put to win his first green jacket with only two bogeys, six birdies, and ten pars. Bubba showed a lot of emotion after his win at Augusta and now is one of five lefty golfers to win the Masters in ten years.
But another great moment has arose from golf yesterday. Matt Every hit nine birdies in his opening round at the Velaro Texas Open. He set the course record in San Antonio Texas hitting a sixty three. He had no bogeys and either birdies or pars.
The public golf course here has now opened and the season is under way. After the vacation in Colorado I plan to keep the ball rolling after the good rounds there. The Ping G10 irons have been great and have improved my game and I can not wait to try them out here at the local course. I plan to play either this Saturday or Sunday and hopefully both. The weather seems great to play into late next week.
I also plan on buying a new sand wedge at Sports Authority I think either a Ram or Tommy Armour wedge. My golf instructor says the one I have is to small and I should get a new one. I also think it can improve my game.
Thanks.

Hey,
Well the Masters is just one day away and many questions are in the air for different players. Such as can Tiger ‘Twenty Timer’ Woods get his fifth green jacket and keep the momentum after his first win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational after that two year cold streak. Can Rory Mcilroy put himself on top of the leader board and keep his name there to receive his first green jacket. Augusta is extremely challenging and puts the top players games to the test. But it also tests the mind and seeing if a player can keep there name at the top of the board through all four rounds, such as Rory giving us the example on how not to keep your name there. It is along tournament and anything can happen but I guess the rest of us will just have to sit around to watch and see.
In other news the snow is pretty much gone here and courses are starting to get prepared to open up. Some just south are open and over the weekend I plan to go down and play a round or two. With the lessons and a new golf swing I believe my score should go down.
Speaking of which, the lessons have been moved outside to a private courses seeing the shop on Main Street closed down, but this courses is great and I really like it. We have also worked on chipping and there have been good improvements in that section of my game.
Just six days and my family and I will be leaving to Colorado on Spring Break and I plan on playing golf there. I am excited to try out the courses they have and see how the adjustments to my game will mix in with the new courses I have not played.
I am very excited about it all, the Masters, lessons and to play somewhere new, that’s all for now.
Thanks.

Hey,
Just after his last tournament at the Transions Championship, Jason Dufner lead the tournament after a 61 both times in the first two rounds. But the third and the fourth were not as good when he shot an even par in those final two rounds. After last weeks tournament, Jason Dufner looks to be rebounding back with the lead at the Arnold Palmer Invitational
. But tied he is tied for first will Charlie Wi, and closely on their tails’ are Nick Watney and Jim Walker. Hopefully Dufner can keep his lead and come away with the trophy in Orlando.
The golf shop on main street has closed for the rest of the winter where I take lessons. But the trainer is teaching outside now with very little snow left on the ground. This Sunday again I will keep working with him on my short game which includes chipping and putting. With the snow close to being gone and hopefully more warm weather on the way the courses here will open up and the golf season will start unusually early. I will also be signing up for tournaments this summer to prepare myself for tryouts this coming August. I also have the goal to shoot a thirty eight on nine holes, and the par being thirty six and with that my dad will help me buy a range finder to help me get exact distances on different courses.
Rory is still taking time off from tournament golf, and preparing for the Masters which is around the corner and about to arrive on April 5th just two and a half weeks. He hopes to create the big lead he had last year and keep all the way until the end. If he can win at the Masters hopefully he can also receive another win at the Open this year. He still leads FedEx Cup points with 1,015 but dropped back to number two in the world.

Hey,
The Transitions Championship
in Innisbrook Resort, Copperhead, Palm Harbor, Florida is a tournament that can help not only ones bank account average but also its Fed Ex Cup standings. The winner takes $990,000 and 500 Fed Ex Cup points. Right now it looks like Jason Dufner has a chance to be the lucky winner. But on his tail is Padraig Harrington just one stroke behind, is looking to improve off his 61 that he put up on the board yesterday to break the course record and put him in the lead. This tournament could potentially be one that has most players fighting back and forth until the final hole.
In other news, Rory Mcilroy is still leading in Fed Ex Cup standings at first place and also is the world’s number one. After a third place finish at the WGC Cadillac Championship and a first place finish at the Honda Classic, he does plan to take tournament time off to prepare for the Masters this upcoming April. He intentions are to ovoid the collapse which occurred last year.
Plenty of snow has melted away here in PC and it certainly seems like the golf season is just that much closer. Hopefully in the next month or so I will be able to head down to Salt Lake to play rounds there were it is warmer and courses are open. The golf trip to Colorado is still very possible but is about a month away as well.
The golf lessons on main street are also fantastic and improvement is made every lesson. I am very excited to go again this Sunday and work more on my impact. I was able to hit a little on Tuesday and saw great improvement there.
Hopefully Rory stays number one and is ready for early April with the Masters, and I can play very soon here.
Thanks.

Hey,
Rory Mcilroy has now taken over the number one spot in the world of golf ahead of Luke Donald and he is the second youngest player in history to become the worlds number one. He won the Honda Classic earlier this Sunday afternoon by two strokes over Tiger Woods and Tom Gillis. He had a great round shooting one under for the day but he did bogey the twelfth hole and was able to rebound back with a birdie on the thirteenth hole. He shot a twelve under for the whole tournament and collected one million, twenty six thousand dollars. He did play great birding five holes on the first round of the classic putting him four under par to begin this tournament, he then birdied four holes the next round to then put him seven under for the tournament after two rounds, and birdied six in the third round and was able to finish it of today with two birdies to take the number one spot. After taking second place in the WGC: Accenture Match just last Sunday hopeful the victory at Florida today will create more momentum and wins in the future to keep him in the number one spot in the world.
In other news I did go back to main street again for another lesson and are still progressing in my golf swing now making better contact with the ball and putting more power in to the swing which then creates more distance. These last lessons have been great and I will keep attending in the future to keep progressing.
This is not final but becoming closer, my family is planning a trip to Moab, Utah over spring break to play some golf there. Hopefully play a few different courses for more exposer and stay a few days to help my game for this upcoming season which will hopefully start in the next few months here in PC but my dad says that we might take trips down to Salt Lake to get playing earlier.
That is all for now.
Thanks,

Hey once again,
There is a lot going on. Rory finished second at the WGC-Accenture Match Play. How this tournament works is that each golfer plays against one other golfer and who ever wins the match moves on to the next round to play another winner from a different group of twos that played. Well Mcilroy reached the finals playing Hunter Mahan for the title. He had been down most of the match trying to battle his way back ahead of Mahan. He did come to be within one stroke to be even with Mahan but he pulled away making it harder for Rory to bounce back. Rory was not able to beat Mahan in this tournament but if he had it would have made him the champion and ranked the new worlds number one. He did though finish second and had a good round but he is number two in the world for rankings. Rory does play again in the Honda Classic starting this Friday.
In other news I did receive another golf lesson the Sunday after my trip and again yesterday. These were both very good and informative. I will go again next Sunday and this is becoming a regular procedure. I can also go and hit golf balls there not during a lesson within each week and I do plan on going this Wednesday and Thursday.
Finally I did go to Mesquite Nevada last week during my schools winter break to golf. My dad and I stayed at the Casa Blanca Resort and played one round at the Casa Blanca golf course. This was a good first day back from golf after about a four month absent period due to all of the snow here. But it was a beautiful day and I had a good round. The following day I played at a nine hole course in St. George, the Dixie Red Hills Course, on the day after that I played at the Palms Golf Course in Arizona about fifteen minutes away from Mesquite where I had a short chip for eagle but it did not drop. Finally the last day I played at the St. George Golf Club on our way back to Park City. All of the rounds were good only the last did I not play as well as I was hoping but overall it was okay.
During the schools Spring Break my dad and I plan to play again now in Moab. I do not know if this for sure but there will be more details later. This is another trip I am really looking forward to.
That is all for now and hopefully Rory can take the title at the Honda Classic.
Thanks,
jkasel15

Hey,
I have some new and exciting news. In my last post I mentioned that my dad and I were going down to Main Street to go to this golf shop/school to help me improve my swing. We did end up going and I took a hour lesson which helped improve my grip, stance and back swing. I plan on going next Sunday again that way I get more help before I leave for Mesquite next Monday.
Phil Mickelson has not won a tournament for a while now and people seem to be doubting him. He has not stirred up a lot of excitement sense his runner up finish at the British Open last year. Sense then it has not been impressive, he barely made the cut at the Humana Challenge and then did get cut at the Farmers Insur
ance Open. After this people have started to doubt his winning ability. On Saturday at Pebble Beach there was still not much excitement either, people thinking that last Sunday would not be much better and we will have to wait until his next tournament to only hope. But Mickelson said to hold on a minute and decided to shoot an eight under with a sixty four on the final round to then win at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
So with Mickelson rolling again, Tiger is the next to be broug
ht up in the conversation. Yes even though I am not a fan it is important to keep an occasional tab on him. Again Tiger did not win again and he is still winless sense 2009. Even though he has been able to improve his game t
owards a win it has not happened. The question could rise, is it time to doubt him and move on. His name is Tiger Woods so no that is not going to happen. He has improved his game to the point where people do think he has the ability to win, and will soon. I guess it is only for us to wait but sense 2009 he has done nothing.
That is all for now,
Thanks
